RatingYes, all MiniStation devices support Mac OS X. However, many components of Buffalo Tools may not work in Mac OS. By default MiniStation is formatted for use in Windows. It requires formatting by Mac OS by using Mac's included 'Disk Utility' software (Inside the Utilities folders in Applications). Also, there is 3rd party software for Mac OS. I used Heredis when I first got a Mac in 2014. It looked lovely but then started to crash constantly for no apparent reason. Carpro mac os. Support were hopeless at resolving the problem, so I ditched it.
I thought I'd try it again and so bought Heredis 2020 yesterday. What an idiot!
It looks horrible these days compared to a few years ago. I tried to import my Gedcom. I've passed it through Gedcom validators and they all say it's okay. Rootmagic imports it okay, so does FTM, and a couple of others
Heredis fails and says see the log file for why. Pressing the button to see it has no effect. SO I can't see the log file
EDIT: I just fixed the 'fog bug'. It was related to Mesa's GL implementation.¹. There is a new version (0.4.1) available on Itch and IndieDB.As soon as some of you report that the bug is indeed fixed, I will upload it to Steam (UPDATE: already uploaded).
Oh, and it suddenly puts up messages in French which isn't good although I can read it but that's not the point.
I tried to contact support but th link on the menu doesn't work.
What a disaster. Fortunately I paid only 50% of the normal price a mere $30 US, but they have it, and I don't. Nor do I have software that is any use at all.
